Problem Note 44882: Prompted filtering on missing values might return no results if the information map is based on third-party data
Beginning with version 4.2, SAS® Information Map Studio enables you to create a prompted filter that includes missing values as a choice. In addition, beginning with version 4.3, SAS® Web Report Studio automatically includes missing values as a choice for dynamically populated prompts when the data contains missing values.
However, if your data is from a third-party source, such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server, filtering on missing values might return no results. No results are returned because the WHERE clause searches for SAS missing values instead of using IS NULL.
Note: For more information about the differences between RDBMS nulls and SAS missing values, see SAS Note 23226.
One workaround is to use the COALESCE function as described in SAS Note 19480.
Otherwise, click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
